Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Jack James High School! We hope that all of our families have had a wonderful summer shared with family and friends whether you were on adventures within our city or our mountainous backyard. I am excited to be starting this year of learning and growing with the Jack James Community. We are all eager to meet all of our families as we return back to school with such excitement for the opportunities, milestones and successes that we will share as we learn and grow alongside each other this school year.
All of our teachers are here to help make your year as successful as possible. We encourage all students to become involved in the many different activities, clubs and sports teams offered at our school.
One of the main goals of our school is to prepare you to be critical thinkers and problem solvers both at school and in the community. Engage in opportunities to explore the many activities that you might be interested in and our teachers and staff will assist you in anyway they can. Jack James offers a variety of off campus experiences for you to connect your classroom work with real life experiences. Please take advantage of the numerous opportunities to discover your passions and strengths. Take pride in your work and have high expectations for yourself as a learner. Remember to respect yourself, each other and our place of learning. Be sure to encourage and support your peers in their journey as well, we are all in this together.
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 2 with a staggered entry. Grade 10's are from 8:55am - 11:56 and Grade 11 and 12 from 1:15pm - 3:37 pm. September 3 is regular classes. School photos are on Tuesday, September 9. The students will receive their ID cards on picture day.

I get the feeling that we will have much to celebrate here at Jack James this year, and I look forward to the school year ahead of us all.
Take Care and Be Safe,
Darrin Moody
