Spring is here and I am sure many of you are taking advantage of it by going for walks and bike rides with your family and I know you can hardly wait for the last snow fall of the year…… May Long weekend is just around the corner.
Here at Jack James, Ms. Drake and Ms. Paxton and I are already well on our way to planning for next year. Our current population is 380 students and next year we are projected to be around the same at 380 students. Although consistency is great we are hoping to get some more registration over May, June and the summer. Our Admin team continues to make sure we are making decisions that have our students’ best interests in mind as we go forward. To help us in the planning process we are asking that if there are any families that know their child will not be returning to Jack James next school year, please let us know as soon as you can. Also, if you know that there are students who will be attending Jack James but not yet registered please let us know. Getting an accurate account of our student population for next year will help us plan accordingly, and negate any sudden changes having to be made in the fall.
Spring Sports are underway and our Track Team has doubled in size from last year. It is still not too late if you know your student or anyone that would still like to join have them talk to Ms. Miller. Practices are either at lunch or after school. Spring activities are underway and just had a very successful Wellness afternoon where we had keynote speaker Alex Ogbongbemiga from SMART Performance and Liz Ly from the Power of Humanity. After our speakers students participated in an old school retro field day supporting health and wellness. Graduation activities are being planned and soon enough our Grae 12’s will be leaving us. Although this always makes us sad we are also looking forward to next year as we have already started planning what that might look like.
My hope is that everyone continues to stay healthy, happy and safe and has a wonderful spring. I know all the staff at Jack James can’t wait to see how all our students finish their semester in the coming month.
Best Wishes and Take Care,
Darrin Moody
