School Resource Officer
The Calgary Police Service provides our School Resource Officer. They speak to classes on a variety of topics surrounding youth and the law as well as being available for students and staff if difficulties arise. Their work involves both class presentations and individual legal supports as called upon. School Resource Officers (SRO’s) are sworn law enforcement officers with the Calgary Police Service who are placed in schools. SRO’s generally utilize a community based program approach. SRO’s are usually seen as a friend or mentor to students rather than a uniformed officer.

All students and staff are responsible for the safety of our school. Therefore it is mandatory that all students and staff are required to have their ID Cards on their person at all times to discourage trespassers. ID’s will also reflect joint campus programming when applicable.

Success and Safety
Success and safety are of utmost concern for you the student therefore, we have instituted a policy requiring regular and punctual daily attendance/engagement for all students.
Why?
Safety
With the variety of equipment and machines students use in class Safety Training is an ongoing learning piece. We must follow Laws and Regulations related to industry through OHS (Occupational Health and Safety). Therefore it is imperative students are in regular daily attendance to have the knowledge and safety training to work in shops with the equipment and machines.
Failure to maintain regular and punctual daily attendance/engagement may result in the loss of that class.
Success
Students need to focus on what it takes to succeed. Achievement is directly related to daily attendance and engagement. We are require students to be here regularly, punctually and engaged to give themselves the chance of being successful in all classes.
Note:
- Industry requires safe employees.
- Insurance claims are related to safe employee practices.
- The job marked is moving to substance testing. Employees need to be free of this involvement.
