We’re proud of our school and like to share our spirit.
Spirit Days
Leadership courses at Jack James offer students the opportunity to plan and participate in a wide range of school events and spirit days that help build a strong sense of community and connection. Some events are focused on fun and celebration, such as PJ Day, Twin Day, Dress Like a Student/Teacher Day, school dances, and our School Basketball Game against the Calgary Stampeders. Leading up to our Holiday Breakfast in December, students were invited to participate in different theme days and activities each day.
Indigenous Leadership Class Events
Other events were planned and supported by our Indigenous Leadership class which focus on reflection, inclusion, and cultural recognition, including Orange Shirt Day (including a community feast), the Holiday Breakfast, Indigenous Family Night (in partnership with Forest Lawn’s Indigenous Leadership class), and Indigenous People's Day.
Well-Being Committee
This past year, we had a Well-Being Committee made up of 8 students that helped organize a Well-Being afternoon, which features retro sports and activities focused on physical and mental wellness.
New Ideas Welcome!
Students in the program are always welcome to bring forward new ideas for events or initiatives that make our school even more engaging, inclusive, and fun—just connect with your Leadership teacher or a member of the Administration team to share your suggestions!
